Kids' ISO 14000 Programme empowers children, so that they increase
(1) their environmental awareness, (2) capability to solve problems by the scientific methodology to achieve the target which they set up, (3) to collaborate each other through networking to solve problems which they will face in near future.
This approach would extend to the World Peace.

Kids'ISO14000 Programme has developed by ArTech -NGO- in 2000. The Programme has been implemented in Japan and spreaded through the United Nations University (UNU), UNEP, ISO, and UNESCO as UN-DESD to many other countries in the world. By 2009, more than 210,000 children has participated in the world.

Kids'ISO14000 Programme is characterized by its effectiveness,

1. Educational aspect: more than 80 % of children who participated increased their environmental awareness.

2. Furthermore, those children affect their family members in environmetal management.

3. As a results of effectiveness in education, children have been reducing CO2 emission from house holdl. An estimation indicates more than 70,000 tons of CO2 emission was reduced. Setting up of the credit for those reduced emitted carbon is under way.

4. Local and International Networks have been formed, and International TV Conferences have organized amoung children who participated Kids'ISO14000 Programme.

5. Many other good results are coming out from participation of Kids'ISO14000 Programme, including increased tie among family members through the work on environmental management of house hold.

Kids'ISO14000 Programme as UN-DESD
UN-DESD (United Nations - Decade of Education for Sustainable Development) has been started in 2005 to 2014. In 2009, at Bonn, Gernmany, the intrim review of DESD was done and reported by UNESCO. In this world conference of DESD, Kids'ISO14000 in Kuwait was presented at the booth by Ministry of Education of the state of Kuwait. Many ministers visited this booth.


International Expansion of Kids'ISO14000 Programme
Implementation of Kids'ISO14000 Programme has been expanding through many channels. As shown in the following figure, the children who have participated Kids'ISO14000 Programme, and the instructors who can coordinate Kids'ISO14000 Programme as the instructors are distributed more that 25 countries. In 2009, one school in Qatar started to implement the programme by following Kuwait in the GCC. In 2010, Canada, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya are planning to start.

Earth Day TV Program with Kids'ISO14000 Programme  Press release To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, a 28 minute show about Kids' ISO 14000 Programme will be broadcast on Manhattan cable TV. The show highlights the closing ceremony for Kids' ISO14000 Programme at NYC Public School IS227 and signing ceremony at United Nations in New York in order to start Kids' ISO 14000 programme in Ontario public schools. Presentation at Seminar on Dialogues between Islamic Civilization and Japan on February 23, 2010, Tokyo, Japan In the Seminar, Presentation on "Implementation of Kids'ISO14000 Programme in Kuwait and GCC" has been made, and many countries in GCC and other Islamic countries showed strong interest in the program.  Closing Ceremony of Kids'ISO14000 in New York City Public School was held on January 19th at Luis Armstrong Intermediate School in Quessn, New York, and more that 500 kids attended. more details here. Canada start Implementation. Agreement was signed between ArTech and Counsil of Public Education of Province of Ontario, Canada on implementation of Kids'ISO14000 Programme in Province of Ontario on January 18th, 2010 at the United Nations University Office of New York. (more details) Kids Carbon Credit to TUVALU (Kicc) earned in Kids'ISO14000 Programme which is equivalent money value for 30,000 ton of CO2 is offered to children in TUVALU. more details. 9th Awarding Ceremony of International Certificate of Kids'ISO14000 Programme was held on January 16th, 2010 at the United Nations University, Tokyo, Japan. International Symposium and Training Course of Eco-Kids Instructors 2007 has been held at UNESCO, Paris 2007 International Symposium and Training Course of Eco-Kids Instructors for Kids' ISO 14000 Programme will be held at UNESCO, Paris, France on Nov. 6-8, 2007. 2007UNESCO-Course Kuwaiti Eco-Kids Instructors were born Intense Training Course of Eco-Kids Instructors for Kids' ISO 14000 Programme to implement in Intermediate Schools in Kuwait under Ministry of Education have been held in Tokyo, Japan, and 6 school teachers and a representative of the working group attended the course for 2 week. All the trainees received Certificates of Level 1 Eco-Kids Instructor. Arabic Version of Workbook and Implementation to Kuwait The workbook in Arabic was editated and published for implementation to Kuwait. Children in Kuwait is working with this workbook in schools and in home of participate Kids' ISO 14000 Programme . Awarding Ceremony of Evaluation Sheets at New York JC School was held on April 18, 2007 in USA, and 14 children received them with their workbooks. Their accompliment was tremendous and they showed their capability of environmental management and reduction of CO2 emission for their household up to 80 kg for a week, which would lead to 2 tons in a year.
