Middle Level
After children master the methodology of problem solving with "PDCA cycle" on environmental management of house hold through the Introductory Level of Kids' ISO 14000 Programme, now, they go to "Middle Level".

In the Middle level of this programme, children challenge to improve environment of the local region, where they live.

First, they form a group of the members, which consist of those who have the international certificates of Primary Level and those who have not receive the international certificates.

The group decides the group leader, and discusses about the theme of their project. After they decide the theme, they make schedule, roles of the members, and write proposal to ArTech. ArTech provide some advisors to this group, and the project starts.

The theme of the project should be within the field of environmental issues of the school and the region where they live. For example, (1) cleaning of the water in the small rever in their village, (2) reduction of plastic bag in the supermarket, (3) reduction of the solid waste from the complex to the apartment house, etc. There are so many issues, to which children can attack.

The methodlogy which children use for solving problem is "PDCA cycle". Those children already mastered with the Introductory level. In the Middle Level, children work as a group, and apply "PDCA cycle" to the "School and regional issues".

It may take about half a year or so. After completion of the project, they write a repot, and send it to ArTech.

ArTech review the report, and when it is good, all the responsible members of the group receive the International Certificate of Middle Level of Kids' ISO 14000 Programme.

Highest Level
Now, children challenge to make a network to work together, internationally. They form a group of members who have International Certificates of Middle Level, and decide the issues to work, and find a partner group, internationally.

The subjects are local environmental issues, but collaboration through network makes difference.
EEE Group (Shigenobu-cho, Ehime Pref.)
2 members formed a group, and attached to reduce the plastic bag in of the supremarket by replacing "My bag from own home". When they started the rate to use My bag was 30 %, and they set-up the goal to be 60 %. Finally, after many PDCA cycle, the rate went up to 81 % by thier campains activity in their local region. Gomi Herashi Tai (Suginamiku, Tokyo)
